You’ve just been invited to a great party that everyone in school is talking about. Think of the first questions that come to your mind. Where is the party? How will I get there? What time does it begin? AND WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?!!!

Seriously, in order to actually arrive at the party, you may not think about it, but you have to do a little planning. If you don’t have good directions or a map, you’ll be driving around in circles. And if you show up at nine o’clock and the party is over, you’ve missed out! We know that asking the right questions and planning ahead can really benefit our social lives. But somehow, when it comes to money, many of us are driving around with our eyes closed, hoping to get lucky and find a party!

If you think of a budget as a roadmap or plan for determining where you’re going, how you’ll get there, and when you need to arrive — you’ll realize that budgeting can make your life easier. But sometimes the things that are the best for us, such as creating a budget, are the most difficult to do. Why? Because we think that budgeting means not doing things we enjoy.

Budgeting is exactly the opposite!

A budget is a system for tracking your income and money that allows you to make the most of your resources and aids you in figuring out how much you can spend now while still saving enough for later. A budget lets you actually “see” where your money is going.  A budget is indeed one of the most liberating financial devices to have.

Do you want to get the most out of your money? Jump in the driver’s seat and let’s take a trip through budgeting.
