2001 YoungBiz 100 Statistics

• The total annual profit of the YoungBiz 100 winners was $7,065,23 for the year 2001, compared to last year's $2.9 million.
• This year's top 10 winners earned more than $5,500,000 in annual profit, which is an average income of $550,000.
• The other 90 winners earned an average of $17,389 annual profit or $347 weekly.
• Most of the other 90 worked no more than 15 hours a week, making their average income $23.13 per hour.
• 35% of the YoungBiz 100 made an annual profit exceeding $20,000.
• 12% made between $10,000 and $20,000.
• 19% made between $5,000 and $10,000.

• 90% of the YoungBiz 100 winners have been in business for more than one year, and many of those boast several years as business owners.
• 18% have owned and operated their businesses for more than 5 years.
• Many of our 'treps use a business plan to help them get the ball rolling and to keep them on track. Of this year's winners, 54% use a business plan.
• At least 85% use a computer in some manner to operate their businesses, while 64% report using the computer to record data and manage finances or sales.
• Our 'treps understand the importance of learning all they can about running a business; 42% have taken some type of business course.
