Jayson Meyer, 1

Meyer Technologies, Daytona Beach Shores, FL

According to Jayson Meyer, it won't be long before lots of people will be tossing out their CD-Rom software and floppy copy data, and hopping online for the latest apps. His company, Meyer Technologies, is preparing to ride the growing trend toward online computer applications and databases. "There is a transition from local applications to those that run online," says Jayson, CEO of the company. "We are putting applications straight on the Internet - it's a very new industry." Meyer Technologies is leading that jump from local apps, and the big boys of computer software are on the way as well. Microsoft is heading toward Web-based software with their .Net plan. Jayson predicts that the .Net initiative will build even more interest in the software solutions he is working on. When he was in eighth grade, Jayson and his brother Martin started Meyer Technologies as a computer repair and sales business that ran out of their bedroom. But today Meyer Technologies focuses on corporate software solutions. His company is now set to launch their new WorkSmart suite of Internet application software. WorkSmart MD, the first WorkSmart application, helps automate doctor's offices and do electronic billing. When he's not running his leading-edge technology company or appearing on Oprah, Jayson goes out and gives a chat to youths. He's done several motivational speeches in southern Florida, as well as Q & A sessions with students.

"To help people out by giving them desired products and services - and most importantly - having fun doing what we like to do," says Pankaj. In fact, he loves running paWare so much, that he has turned down several job offers from computer-consulting firms that included six-figure salaries and stock options.
